Ebanie Powell

Ebanie Powell is an architect based in Co. Galway. Since moving to Ireland in 2016, she has worked with a number of practices in Clare and Galway and also runs her own studio. She first studied architecture at Cambridge University, then continued her training at the Centre of Alternative Technology in Wales. At CAT, there where there was a much more ‘hands on’ approach with sustainability at the heart of the course which is central to how Ebanie approaches her practice today.

Ebanie finished her studies at University College Dublin, and is registered with the RIAI in Ireland. Ebanie has worked on projects ranging from tiny homes to skyscrapers and everything in between. She’s passionate about really listening to clients, and understanding the unique needs each person has for the place that they live. Ebanie has a deep interest in how to build sustainable places and communities.

In the last few years she has been part of a small group developing an intentional community in a clohaun. Finding ways to navigate the planning system has been key to making this dream a reality, finding nimble ways to create affordable homes that people love.
