We believe that skills, community and time on the land should be open to everyone, no matter what you can afford. After years of learning, building relationships and partnerships, and making careful choices, Common Knowledge has gotten to a place where 75% of the courses and events we run are free of charge, and we’re very proud of this. Here are some of the ways you can get involved.

Celebrate Your Heritage
REKINDLE FESTIVAL
Rekindle brings traditional skills, music and heritage back to life, with events, demonstrations and festivities across our nearby towns. It's a chance to see forgotten skills in action, learn from the people who still hold them, and take part in activities that are free to attend. Rekindle 2026 takes place from August 14th to 16th and we’d love to see you there.
Make an Impact
PEATLANDS IN PRACTICE
Peatlands in Practice is how we're restoring and caring for the peatland on our site, alongside our community. Join us for hands-on days out on the bog, learning why peatlands matter and gaining practical experience in restoration techniques, no experience needed.
Build Your Community Space
FREE TRADITIONAL SKILL TRAINING DAYS FOR CLARE COMMUNITIES
On behalf of the Clare Local Development Company and funded through LEADER, we are running free traditional skill training days for community group members in Clare. Whether there is a wall in your local GAA club that needs re-building or a community garden in your neighborhood that you look after, these free training days will equip you with the practical skills, knowledge and confidence to take on the job yourself.
Plant Something That Lasts
FIELD GOOD FRIDAYS
We open our land for a few hours of hands-on ecology work: planting, clearing and building habitats for the plants and animals that call the Common Knowledge home. Bring your wellies and give some time to something that lasts long after you leave.
Grow Together
COMMUNITY GARDEN PROJECT FOR LISDOONVARNA
Growing Together is our free community garden project in Lisdoonvarna, run in partnership with Lisdoonvarna Fáilte CLG. It brings people from all backgrounds together to grow food, build biodiversity and share skills, turning a shared outdoor space into somewhere the whole community can grow, learn and belong.
Walk The Land
FREE PEATLANDS, HERITAGE AND BIODIVERSITY TOURS OF THE LAND
Walk our 50 acres with a guide and hear the story of the land: its habitats, its history and the people keeping its traditions alive. A relaxed way to see what we do and why it matters.
