Growing Together: Community Gardening Workshop Series in Lisdoonvarna

Join us for a free four-session workshop series, bringing together residents in Lisdoonvarna to grow food, enhance biodiversity, build community and connect across cultures.

This project is free-of-charge to all participants, with a wholesome lunch provided.

About the project

Growing Together is a free community garden project based near Lisdoonvarna, bringing people from all different backgrounds together through food growing, biodiversity building, and skill sharing.

When you sign up, you're joining the full series - four sessions across the summer and autumn, each building on the last, and culminating in a community garden meitheal at the end of September where we build, plant, and celebrate together.

We are turning this community garden in to a shared outdoor space where people can come together to grow food, learn practical skills, and build connections with their neighbours. It offers an accessible, welcoming environment for people of all backgrounds to contribute, collaborate, and take pride in a space they have created together.

What to expect

By the end of the series you'll have:

  • Practical skills in food growing, biodiversity, and sustainable building

  • New connections with people from across the community

  • A shared garden space you helped create and can keep using

Workshops Planned

Booking for each workshop opens one month in advance.

  • Learn how to grow food organically, and sow the seeds you will plant at the end of the project in the community garden.

  • Explore how gardens can support local wildlife and ecosystems. Learn about what you can do to make a space welcoming for a diverse range of flora and fauna.

  • Learn practical D.I.Y skills using upcycled and natural materials, including how to build raised beds and work with cob.

  • Working together, we'll build raised beds, plant vegetables and fruit bushes, construct garden infrastructure, and share a celebratory picnic. This is the day the community garden comes to life.
