The Bog Sauna Launch Day with Free Foraging Experience

  • The Common Knowledge Centre V95DK38 Ireland (map)

Celebrate the arrival of autumn and opening of our Bog Sauna, with a complimentary foraging session on our launch day, September 14th.

Our sauna offers a place to warm your bones, restore energy, and embrace the benefits of heat as winter approaches. Set within 50 acres of land, The Bog Sauna is part of our wider work at Common Knowledge: connecting people with place, with each other, and with the rhythms of the natural world.

Built with reclaimed materials and sited in the bog, it is both a space for quiet reflection and a gathering point for community. We're hosting a very special opening day offer just for friends and community, before the sauna opens regularly for community use during winter.

The experience brings together movement, learning, and connection, making the sauna all the more restorative. A warming reflection after a walk of discovery. After your sauna experience, you are invited to relax in our Lodge with herbal teas and sweet treats provided.

To celebrate the official launch day of The Bog Sauna, we offering the opportunity to twin your sauna with a foraging experience on our 50 acre site for no extra charge. Booking is essential as spaces are limited.

About The Bog Sauna - A Ritual of Heat & Wildness

Experience the wider and wilder side of the Common Knowledge grounds by immersing yourself in The Bog Sauna. A restorative space for relaxation, community awakening and nature connection. Allowing for both quiet reflection and shared moments of warmth. Set in a secluded bogland location on site, the sauna is clad using storm-fallen steel roofing that would otherwise have been disposed of.

"Beautifully clad in storm-fallen steel, Common Knowledge’s Bog Sauna rests on wooden beams that give it the impression of floating on the land. Built in Spring 2025 by a team at the non-profit social enterprise’s 50-acre site in the Burren, every element of this sauna has been carefully considered to bring people in closer contact with the bog and the natural surroundings." - Irish Examiner
